I still suck my thumb. I’m not “old”, I’m not even past my early twenties. I grew up with an extremely abusive mom and it was incredibly hard to cope starting as a really young child, so all I figured to do was suck my thumb. I was so dependent on it in childhood. It hasn’t ruined my teeth, and I only ever do it now I’m high stress situations and I’m alone or when I need to sleep. I always wash my hands before too, don’t worry. I know it’s odd, but I’m not ashamed of it. I used to be as a kid because my mom always yelled at me about it. I just don’t go around touting to the world that I suck my thumb.
