When I was about 10 or 11, I killed a cat, my father had abused me up until then, one day he came home drunk and angry about work. After he was done beating on me I ran outside to hide in our wash way, I found a baby kitten there and when I looked at the kitten I was so filled with anger I just lashed out. That was almost 20 years and I've never harmed another animal in my life, I haven't spoke to my father in 15 years, what I did still haunts me today, I wish I could go back and fix it...

I fell in love with a guy for 5 years of my life. No matter how much time we were away from each other I couldn’t forget him or move on from him. 2 years ago I started to date someone else and had stoped talking to the other guy who we will call Jacob. For so long I thought that I had stoped loving Jacob yet not once did he leave my mind. He was always in my heart and was such an important person. Many people ask why I didn’t just stay with him. The truth is that he never told me how he truly felt. He never spoke his mind to me. He was always quiet and refused to tell me how he felt about me. In a way I know he loved me too. I just don’t think he wanted to be an open person because he was never open with anyone at all. We weren’t meant to be and this past summer I left my relationship to try and be with Jacob but he was hurting me by staying silent and not telling me if he wanted to be with me. He said he did but he wasn’t open on his feelings and as much as I think he did love me I also think that he was never gonna fight for me or open up to me. I wish it was different. He was the only person I will ever have such a strong connection and bond with. After two months of trying to work something out with him again. It failed. I felt like he wanted the whole world but me. I love him I really do. I went back to the guy I was dating because I felt it was unfair to leave such a great guy for something that wasn’t gonna work out. However I truly love Jacob and yes I love my boyfriend too but Jacob will always be a piece of my life and soul. I don’t know how to let Jacob go. At nights I miss him a lot and I need to constantly remind myself that I need to let him go. I just wanna forget him and move in. I wish it was easy. I just wanna feel happiness and no longer pain from a love that was too good to be true.

my mother was in an abusive relationship when i was younger. i would often here her screaming and crying as that son of a bitch beat her. i always wished i could do something but being a skinny, 8 year old, i couldn’t. one day my mom was at work and i was left alone with that man. he asked me to clean something for him and i put it off until later. he didn’t like that at all. that was the first time he hit me. i never told anyone about this as to not cause anyone anymore stress. i just wanted to help my mom so i didn’t say anything. since we’ve been out of that situation for years i figured there was no point in telling anyone. just thought i should get it off my chest

I hate myself with every bone in my body. Nobody likes me at school, my friends all suck. I'll never be popular. I'm going no where. I'm afraid this is where my life will peak, and it isn't even that far up. I'm scared my life will all reflect off of this, that for the rest of my life everyone will think of the shy unpopular no friends girl and decide I wouldn't be a good friend. What if I'm stuck with this personality of mine for the rest of my life? What if I can never come out of my shell? What if my life amounts to absolutely nothing? I have big dreams, like to be a guitarist, artist, author, poet, environmentalist, but I don't think that'll happen. My dad wants me to go to college. My dad wants me to be a teacher and stay here in this little town and have a family. I want a family, but i want to travel. I dont want to have a sucky teaching job. I don't want to be stuck with someone or a job or even a life I hate. I'm scared. I'm terrified. It feels like my entire life is based off of what I decide to do right now and I just can't. I cant decide. I wanna stay young but I also want to have friends. I want to grow up and have a better life but at the same time I'm scared it'll be worst.
